Responsible for continuous accurate observation, documentation, and communication of cardiac rhythms. Maintains accurate monitoring log books.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
High school diploma or GED required.
2.
Must have successfully completed the UHC dysrhythmia course that is offered after hire. Must successfully pass the certification exam at the completion of the course of the exam. Annual recertification is required.

1.
Responsible for continuous observation of the cardiac rhythm of telemetry patients.
2.
Maintains an accurate, neat account of patient's cardiac monitoring status during episode of care. Documents cardiac rhythm strip every 8 hours or any change according to policy.
3.
Notifies appropriate nurse of rhythm change, battery replacement, lead replacement or oxygen desaturation according to policy.
4.
Maintains unit equipment according to departmental procedures.
5.
Ensures positive communication with other units/staff and follow-up documentation.
6.
Courteously answers telephone; always identifying self and unit.
7.
Demonstrates proper adjustment of alarms under direction of RN or physician.
8.
Demonstrates proper patient data input.
9.
Performs general cleaning set up and care of monitoring equipment.
10.
Demonstrates operation of cardiac monitors, printers and other required equipment.
11.
Trouble shoots monitoring equipment for immediately correctable problems.
12.
Gives and receives report on pertinent patient/monitor data to and from oncoming/off going shift personnel.
13.
Other related duties/projects as assigned by Manager.
14.
Maintains HIPAA and JCAHO Standards
