Summary: The QA Software Developer, will provide leadership through knowledge sharing and mentoring, as well as influence the continuous improvement of product quality and delivery systems. Design, create/implement, and maintain manual test plans and test automation frameworks to increase productivity and efficiency in the department and collaborate with Software Engineers to enhance and improve automated test coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain automated testing infrastructure
  • Create and integrate automated testing into deployment pipeline
  • Identify and develop test cases and scenarios for automation and manual testing
  • Lead the design and development of test data and test scenarios
  • Understand and leverage open source and commercial automation tools
  • Continuously improve test coverage through automation tools and evaluate technologies for continued relevancy/effectiveness
  • Document and help resolve found defects, including working with Engineers to reproduce defects.
  • Establish yourself as a domain expert so as others seek input from this role to achieve business outcomes
  • Participate in project planning, task assignment and prioritization, resource allocation, and requirements review
  • Work under minimal supervision on complex projects and assist less experienced colleagues as needed/requested
  • Review and provide feedback to ensure clear and concise test cases and documentation
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Champion all QA and software testing processes and utilize continuous improvement to enhance or establish improved processes, including test automation
  • Research and identify new tools or methodologies for improving the software testing practice
  • Develop and lead training sessions (team meeting or lunch & learn formats) for other QA Analysts and Software Engineers on a regular basis
Education and Experience
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years working with software testing or test automation in a Agile environment
  • Experience creating and developing test plans and test cases for manual and automation testing
  • Experience with automated and performance testing
  • Object oriented programming, debugging, and test automation skills with C#, C/C++
  • Understanding of reading, testing, and consuming APIs
  • Experience writing basic to intermediate SQL queries and understanding of SQL database objects
  • Experience working with teams using CI/CD tools and methodologies
  • Experience with source control tools, such as Git
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior associates, specifically with automated test best practices
  • Experience in mobile test automation would be nice to have
