What you’ll be doing:

This is a key role within the Verizon Business Group (VBG). Our customers are front and centre of everything we do at Verizon. The Principal Consultant is a hybrid role that would ideally suit a highly experienced security consultant or architect and business development professional. You will be responsible for translating customer outcomes into workable solutions that incorporate many areas of a broad and diverse product, services and technology portfolio.

You will have skills and experience building strong, meaningful, long-term relationships with our customers, while maintaining a role of advisor/design authority within key accounts. From both commercial and technical standpoints, guiding and developing the right solutions at the right time. You’ll need to have a thorough understanding of industry trends, contexts, shifts and drivers to be able to truly succeed in this role.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Represent Verizon as the principal consulting contact, often taking a leadership role
  • Deliver Consulting Services to a diverse and global customer arena
  • An active listener, interacting with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organisational lines
  • Engaging customers in business-driven security solutions that become indispensable to their digital transformation initiatives
  • Identify and proactively coordinate sales opportunities across various functions within VBG
  • Manage complex RFx and solutions across cyber security consulting practices
  • Account planning, providing input for growth markets and contribute to development of new theories and methods
  • Ensure formal contractual mechanisms e.g., Statements of Work, Change Orders, are established and maintained within active accounts
  • Ensure that solution reviews are completed regularly
  • Support preparation of, and participate in deal review and governance processes
  • Define, develop and implement actions according to account plans on focused accounts and with the relevant account teams
  • Help develop new business opportunities on focused accounts
  • Selling and delivering business-driven solutions, such as:
    • Strategy and maturity roadmaps
    • Investment value and cost justification
    • Corporate risk quantification
    • T&T (Digital, Cloud, etc.)
    • OT/ IoT
    • SASE

What we’re looking for

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Cyber Security (CS) solutions - specifically cyber defense area.
  • Experience delivering and scoping CS solutions to complex business and technical environments.
  • Ability to communicate and lead highly technical conversations effectively to Senior Management and Executive levels.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong experience with knowledge of Cyber Security standards such as NIST, ISO27001/27002, Cloud Control Matrix, CIS, TOGAF, Zachman, MODAF, SABSA, etc.
  • A practical understanding of Knowledge Leadership
  • Ability to define risk and financial impacts utilizing analytical-based models to support business decisions
  • Highly developed communications and presentation skills
  • Advanced interpersonal, time management and negotiation skills
