Summary:

The Patient Advocate (PA) interacts with prospective patients to gather information necessary for the accurate registration of patients. The PA will provide a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, answering questions, taking ownership of solutions and escalating issues as appropriate in order to resolve concerns. The PA captures demographic and insurance information, medical diagnosis, as well as contact information and how they heard about us. The PA will also be responsible for following up with the prospective patient in an effort to encourage a consultation.

Salary Range: $26.00-30.00/hour DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer calls from prospective patients who call looking for more information.
  • Transfer calls from existing patients to the appropriate department for assistance.
  • Make outbound calls to potential patients who provided their contact information as a result of our advertising.
  • Answer questions completely and accurately, with the ultimate goal of attaining contact information for follow up and/or registering the patient in the system.
  • Provide excellent customer service by offering relevant information to callers considering treatment. Information to include, but not limited to: treatment benefits, ease of access, expertise of medical team, research studies and results, ease of registration/treatment process and concierge services.
  • Work with Marketing Manager and Administration to proactively develop speaking points that address new questions and/or concerns that arise during conversations with potential patients.
  • Execute accurate registration of patients by gathering information, assigning appropriate Medical Record Number and entering all relevant data into the system. .
  • Follow up with leads via calls and email who initially request information but do not convert over the course of a period of time.
  • Assist with marketing functions including Center tours, community events and walks.

Required Skills:

  • 2-3 Years Marketing and Sales Experience in a Healthcare organization or similar.
  • Mastery of computer applications and platforms such as Salesforce and Aria.
  • Preferred 1-2 years’ experience with Salesforce.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • 3-5 Years Customer Service experience and skills.
  • Strong Healthcare, call center, patient advocacy experience.
  • Strong ability to drive calls to a positive resolution (collect the lead).
  • Knowledge of proton therapy and ability to communicate differences from other treatments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Promote, model, mentor and lead in patient service excellence.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

  • Minimum one (2) years’ experience in marketing/sales, lead nurturing.
  • Minimum of (3) year’s customer service experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Sales highly preferred.
