Responsibilities:

Effectively review and process HR service requests and transactions related to one or more HR specialties with a high degree of accuracy and adherence to procedures. Accountable for adhering to service standards/metrics for all offerings and ensuring all service standards are met. The position will provide information as well as navigate the organization and vendors on behalf of Northside Hospital employees.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES HR Onboarding Specialist

  1. Responsible for processing new hire information, including the entry of confidential information into HRIS system and creation of HR employee file.
  2. Performs transactions related to one or more HR and Payroll specialties with a high degree of accuracy and strict adherence to written procedures.
  3. Monitors and evaluates the completion of the background check reports, Employee Health clearance, and certification/licensure primary source documentation to ensure all components are compliant with Northside policy or escalates issues when outside of policies prior to new hire start date.
  4. As needed, will complete and confirm all onboarding requirements and clearance processes of Managers, Directors, Executives and Physicians.
  5. Monitors all elements of the background process ensuring efficient turn around with accurate results relative to job requirements prior to new hire start date.
  6. Ensures that the onboarding database is accurate, up-to-date and properly validated daily of new employees for each orientation class and ready prior to new hire start date.
  7. Ensures a high level of customer service to all facilities, maintaining a strong open relationship with HR team members and leaders.
  8. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  9. Provides training and mentoring to new team members.
  10. Conducts periodic monitoring of end-to-end processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  11. Ensures that all compliance issues and risks are brought to the immediate attention of their supervisor.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  2. Two (2) years of Human Resources OR customer service related experience.
  3. High degree of emotional intelligence.
  4. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  5. Strong customer services skills and attitude.
  6. Ability to work with many different people with different personalities.
  7. Strong multi-tasking ability and ability to work through ambiguity.
  8. General knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures and Healthcare compliance.
  9. Ability to work with a team to create effective departmental strategies and meet team goals.
  10. Strong personal computer skills, including spreadsheet and database usage, Excel and Microsoft Word. Must be technology savvy and highly organized.
  11. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings &/or weekends.
  12. Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

PREFERRED

  1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Two (2) years of HR Shared Services experience, representing HR/Health insurance industry.
  3. Competent with Microsoft Excel.
