We are seeking a dedicated and certified lactation consultants (CLC, CLE, and either CBS or IBCLC) to provide comprehensive support for our evening shift. Your role will involve seeing all inpatients, conducting home visits to reinforce breastfeeding teachings, attending to patients in Labor and Delivery, facilitating our "Mom and Me" support group post-discharge, making follow-up calls, and scheduling outpatient appointments for struggling mothers. Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide age-appropriate care to ensure patient understanding and comfort
• Identify and deliver individualized patient care based on needs
• Perform ongoing assessments to determine patient needs, including data from patients/significant others
• Develop, review, and revise individualized care plans, collaborating with providers and clinical disciplines
• Implement safe, appropriate interventions consistent with care plans and lactation protocols
• Take corrective actions to minimize risks to patients, families, and staff
• Act fiscally responsible, accurately charging for supplies and equipment
• Provide education and support for breastfeeding mothers and babies during inpatient phase
• Identify and address potential breastfeeding issues during inpatient and outpatient phases
• Offer ongoing breastfeeding education during pregnancy, updating curriculum and handouts
• Facilitate and serve as a resource for breastfeeding support programs
• Deliver professional education on breastfeeding issues through formal and informal methods
• Perform telephone assessments of discharged breastfeeding mothers and babies, initiating referrals as needed

Schedule:

• 36 hours/week- 11am-11pm

Location:

• Methodist Women's Hospital- 707 N 190th Plaza, Elkhorn, NE

Salary:

• $30.00-$46.95, based on work history/experience

Education:

• Associate's degree from an accredited school required
• Bachelor's Degree required to be obtained by 5 years of hire date

Experience

1 year experience in a health profession listed below recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE):

• Dentist
• Dietitian
• Midwife
• Nurse
• Occupational Therapist
• Pharmacist
• Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
• Physician or Medical Doctor
• Speech Pathologist or Therapist

Licenses/Certifications

• Degree or licensure in one of the following occupations listed above
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) required
• Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within 2 years of hire
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) required within 3 months of hire
