Job Description

Maddie Traylor with Advanced Scope is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Interventional Pain Management Physician to join an orthopedic practice with locations in St. Joseph, Missouri. This position focuses on establishing and streamlining a pain management service line to provide comprehensive care alongside an orthopedic team specializing in hip and knee replacement, sports medicine, spine, and trauma.

 

The Pain Management Physician will diagnose and treat patients experiencing acute and chronic pain related to orthopedic conditions. The ideal candidate should have a background in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and experience in performing a range of pain management procedures. The role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting alongside surgeons, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic pain related to orthopedic conditions.
  • Perform various pain management procedures, such as:
  • Large and minor joint injections (image-guided as indicated)
  • Spinal injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  • Transforaminal and interlaminar injections
  • Selective nerve root blocks
  • SI joint injections (image-guided as indicated)
  • Other related procedures
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, NPs, PAs, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Manage patient care, emphasizing improved function and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (Modmed, Epic).
  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of the pain management service line.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • PM&R or Anesthesiology Residency. 
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Pain required.
  • Active state medical license and DEA certification.
  • Proficiency in a range of pain management procedures.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing 20+ patients daily in a clinic setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (Modmed, Epic).
