Prime Video is searching for a creative, talented & experienced Editor to lead and grow our internal editing studio, Day One, in Culver City, CA. As our Head of Editorial for Prime Video and Studios, you will provide the creation, execution, and daily oversight of the editorial strategy of the Prime Video brand marketing, as well as work closely with the Amazon Studios title marketing team to deliver best-in-class marketing assets & content.

The ideal candidate has expertise in AV entertainment marketing, maintains valuable industry relationships (notably with trailer houses & editors), has a strong, proven perspective on multiple platform best practices, and is eager to test new, innovative approaches to best serve a streaming customer. They are passionate about visual storytelling at the highest level of craftsmanship, known as a proficient and award-winning editor of bar-raising campaigns, knowledgeable and skilled in Premiere, Avid, After Effects. Additionally, they will craft the business model and growth of the studio. They are highly organized and known for creating processes that ensure projects run successfully. The role will be required to create & foster a highly collaborative office culture, to be present in the office at least 3 days a week and whenever there are tentpole events or other priority initiatives. The Editorial Lead, Prime Video/Amazon Studios will report to the Director, U.S. Streaming Creative and Production and will start with a team of 5 direct reports.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Lead and oversee the editorial strategy, content, and presentation across Prime Video and Amazon Studios title marketing campaigns.
  2. Build a high-performing team through group and individual development, as well as utilize relationships and resources to recruit the best & brightest into the Day One studio.
  3. Create valuable cross-departmental and cross-platform relationships.
  4. Analyze data and research, in coordination with strategy and creative leads, to determine efficacy and identify new approaches.
  5. Communicate effectively & efficiently internally, electronically, and in-person, spanning team discussions and brainstorms, cross-departmental meetings, and stakeholders.
  6. Identify areas where creative output can be optimized and outsourced, and provide creative guidelines and inspiration to those teams.
  7. Work cross-functionally to be aware of shifting creative needs/styles in Product UI, Sports, Studios, and Partners in order to constantly innovate and refresh.
  8. Empower editors to expand their scope—providing inspiration, education, and training if necessary.
  9. Create quarterly wrap-ups of the performance of the assets made, along with learnings, and creative best practices for each platform.
  10. Work directly as lead editor on select high-priority projects, as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of experience in video editing or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Deep, valuable contacts in the creative industry
- Expert knowledge of editing systems Premiere, Avid, and After Effects and other animation software
- Strong managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills, with examples of navigating dynamic executive environments
- Ability to effectively communicate to departments and department heads, communicate and collaborate with key partners across the business
- Fluency in video tools and content management systems,
- Proven ability to partner with high-level, prominent editorial talent and contributors
