Job Description
The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC), is a federally funded Special Purpose Government Agency, created to provide rent subsidies, and promote affordable housing for low-income persons residing in Salt Lake City . HASLC is the largest public housing authority in the state of Utah and the largest provider of Affordable Housing in the Salt Lake Valley. We currently assist over 10,000 individuals, who are seniors, persons with disabilities, children, previously homeless, and households with minimal income, a place to call home.
General Purpose as Entry Level Accountant The Entry Level Accountant is responsible for processing a range of repetitive and non-repetitive clerical accounting transactions. This requires specific knowledge of a wide variety of accounting codes and classifications to meet the needs of the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC) and its non-profit subsidiaries.

Essential Functions of Entry Level Accountant - Verify invoices and check requests for accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Input data and prepare batches according to processing periods.
- Reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, and collaborate with teams to optimize budgets.
- Provide a variety of accounting and administrative support such as assisting with the reconciliation of accounts, journal entries, and travel.
- Maintain files, records, documents, and manage retention of the same.
- Help with monthly and quarterly accounting requirements, aid in financial audits.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience of Entry Level Accountant - Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles, practices, procedures, and terminology related to account payable and accounting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly proficient with accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software.
- Deadline-Oriented. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
- Maintain a high level of daily productivity. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and issues.
- Exceptional customer service and support. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work in a highly independent role and as a team player.

$22.12 - $30.00 per hour
