MERIT is hiring for an Art Director to bring creative innovation and excellence to the brand's presence across various channels. We are looking for someone who can partner with the creative team and understand the brand to deliver strong conceptual ideas and carry through to seamless design execution. Reporting to the Creative Director, we are looking for someone that has a refined eye for layouts, typography skills and can visualize and transform the MERIT aesthetic into the digital world and beyond. As the Art Director you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand's identity and bringing Merit to life across all channels. Responsibilities: Concept campaigns and brand moments, bringing creative innovation and excellence to all projects across all channels Develop and execute on a cohesive digital design strategy in alignment with the brand's identity and values Manage all retail/Sephora product pages, including the video/creator assets and ensure consistent brand representation on retailer site Lead and guide the visual aspects of all digital projects to ensure they are visually compelling and align with the brand's identity and quality standards Collaborate with the Creative team; present and create innovative design concepts Uphold brand guidelines and standards while expanding on guidelines and pushing creative boundaries Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Art Director, Brand, on new ideas and concepts that push the brand esthetics Ensure consistent brand representation across various digital touch points Provide mentorship and guidance to peers on the creative team; foster a collaborative and innovative design culture Stay updated on emerging design trends, digital tools, and software to incorporate innovative elements into projects Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in art direction, graphic design, or a related field, with a portfolio that supports a range of experience of design concepts and execution A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital art, or a related field High proficiency in Adobe Suite programs Strong creative thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills A high attention to detail with the ability to keep digital assets organized A record of being an effective and empowering creative leader Prior people management experience, with an ability to mentor and inspire a small team An ability to develop effective relationships and be a contributing team member and leader within the Creative team An ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, and quickly pivot when priorities shift Effective communication skills and feedback skills, with an an ability to give, and receive feedback, and incorporate constructive creative feedback in a collaborative manner An ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction Previous experience in luxury retail, fashion or beauty brand preferred We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to salary compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $135,000 in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more.
